The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I retired in 2000 from ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Company as a lab technician. Now I do volunteer work for The American Chestnut Foundation, (www.acf.org) helping with the long term breeding program to develop American Chestnut trees that will be resistant to chestnut blight, the accidentally introduced fungal disease that virtually eliminated chestnut trees from the eastern hardwood forests during the first half of the twentieth century. Penn State is a partner in the project, providing scientific assistance and space for some of our largest orchards at the main campus's arboretum.
